Happy day and frustrating day...
So today I felt good and thin. It was a nice feeling. We went walking up the canyon with my family too. Well we came home and did the body testing on wii fit. Well as fate would have it I had gained wait. I am less than what I started, but have gained in the last 3 days. Marc has lost 5 pounds. Can someone please explain how that happens. I have been very strict on what I eat and water intake and all that. Marc was a bit sloppy this past week and ate way more than me. How does he lose 5 pounds and me gain? Sorry I know that is a bit of venting, but it's such a joke. I'm really scared that I won't lose the weight like last time. It took until I was pregnant with kate to lose weight. Anyway... might have something to do with fighting a cold and we did sit Friday out. I wanted to start over, but Marc said a sick day is fine. We did go walking on Sunday. Sunday is a free day. This week we are camping and it will be interesting to see how the results pan out for next week. I really hope they balance out with how I feel.

It sounds just like me and Jeff. First I gained weight before I lost it and Jeff just lost it (guys ALWAYS lose weight faster than women). I am positive that it is just because you are gaining muscle. Once you gain enough muscle then the weight will just slide off. Don't give up!! You are doing awesome!!! Have fun camping!
ReplyDeleteOh and you should measure yourself - because I lost inches before I lost weight - then you will know how much you really are progressing!
ReplyDeleteWeight and BMI are some of the worst measurements of how you are doing. An accurate test of how you are doing is a two part process. You need to measure your body and you will see that you are getting smaller and you need to measure your body fat percentage. These two things together will measure total progress.
ReplyDeleteTo measure your body fat percentage you can get a scale at Wal-Mart or Target for $30-$40 or get a pair of calipers which is even more expensive but more accurate. If you don’t have the cash to blow on a scale then just stick to a measuring tape. If you do get eh scale, make sure it says it is for body fat percentage and NOT BMI and that the scale is accurate to .1%.
The wii fit will measure your BMI. The BMI measure is a joke. By that standard, most professional athletes are obese. So take the BMI with a grain of salt.
